Sara Cronin

 

Was: 15 Stone; Now: 11 Stone

Fed up with her weight, Sara Cronin went to her GP who recommended that she sign up to Keith Anthony’s Weight Loss Programme. Sara, aged 25, says her doctor wouldn’t normally recommend weight loss programmes “but patients of hers had used it and got good results”.

Sara, who weighed just over fifteen stone when she first went on the programme, says moving out of home to live with her husband, was one of the reasons why she gained weight. “We were eating a lot of takeaways. I had also put up weight when I went to college. I’d eat crisps or chocolate instead of breakfast.”

Worried that she was on the way to being diabetic and suffering from high blood pressure and high cholesterol, Sara was determined to address her weight. The five feet six inches tall administrator learned from the programme that she needed to control her portions.

“It told me that my taste buds would change. I thought I’d never change but I soon became used to the programme. Initially, not eating after 7pm was difficult but now it doesn’t bother me. The key to the programme is perseverance.”

Over eight months, Sara lost four stone. She is now eleven stone and while Keith Anthony is pleased with her weight, Sara wants to lose another stone.“Sometimes, I look at myself in the mirror and don’t realise I’ve lost so much weight. I suppose I’m over critical of myself. My clothes are swimming on me. I need to go shopping and buy clothes in size 14.”

She has also learned to keep a food diary. Thanks to her impressive weight loss, Sara’s blood pressure and cholesterol is back to normal.
